I know I've been able to hover a clip over an existing clip in my timeline and it will turn white and give me options to replace, audition, etc. For some reason it's not doing that anymore and only moving the clips out of the way. It's probably something check or unchecked, but I can't figure it out. Anyone have any ideas?

Thanks for all the feedback guys> I've actually seen a few weddign companies create custom flash drives with cases for them. Seems to be the way things may go. I personally like have a Blu-ray rather than downloading a movie, but that's just me. I may have to look into the flash drive option in the near future.

Anyone know if Apple ever decides to make a stand alone program to replace DVD Studio Pro? I still use it for DVD, but FCPX seems limited for Blu-ray, as does toast. Not nearly as many customization options as DVDSP had. I know Encore seems to be the best, but I don't see it for sale as a stand alone program. Some jobs are now posting for FCP, Motion, Compressor, and Encore experience. It seems crazy to buy the whole Adobe suit for just Encore? Anyone have an suggestions?

That's a good point about the low light, I tried hard to use masks and blurs to cover them streaks up, but it never looked any good. What cameras have you seen...that don't completelty break the bank haha.

I appreciate the tips and advice guys. I've mostly done more journalist or sports related pieces in the past so I'm trying to adapt on the fly. I've been watching tons of pieces trying to pick up ideas for future pieces.

Edited this piece from a recent fashion show, it was my first time working with DSLR footage. I have to say I don't like the way shooting with a DSLR looks because it doesn't "feel" like video, but does the Mark III put out a great picture. I can years from now the gap will be bridged with newer hybrid camera's.

I was sent MTS files off of a card on Blue-Ray discs. I'm not able to import them in FCPX like an SD card (not sure why). I've tried using Toast, as I have in the past, but everything keeps coming out green or blue or I've gotten error -50 messages on every file. The footage is h.264 1080p and I can't figure out a way to may these files usable.

Does anyone have any ideas?

This is my first time editing with footage shot on a DSLR (I did not shoot the footage.) Throughout darker spots of the fashion show that was shot, there are black shadowy lines that move vertically throughout the dark areas. I tried to grab a screen grab, but it's hard to notice unless the clip is moving.

A friend of mine said the ISO might of been too high, not sure as I've never shot with DSLR before. Anyone ever experience something similar/have any recommendations for fixing this in post?

I can't figure out how to just effect the reflection and not the original text. I want to lower the opacity among other things without effecting the top, but haven't been able to. Do you have any suggestions?

I've been trying to create different text effects, but have been having problems getting to the results I'd like or finding the effects online, wether it be on FCPX or Motion.

Does anyone know how to create something similar to this, the look of the text and the reflection?
