How big are your biggest event/project file? wonder how big FCPX event or project file can/should be?
its a database file and should grow bigger the more info it must carry

Error creating master file I had this issue too and Simon, your solution of deleting all of the render files and re-rendering fixed it perfectly. It wasn't a slow mo issue, but regardless, I couldn't figure out what was going on. Thanks for taking the time to post!
