Marcus Staniec replied to the topic Re: Stained glass like video collage in the forums. Thanks man.
Both editors work for a major Japanese company that seems to shy away from Apple software in general. I don't understand but I feel better hearing your side as well.
FCPX is not very popular around Tokyo . . .

Marcus Staniec created a new topic Stained glass like video collage in the forums.I'm new here and to FCP as well.
This place looks awesome and I hope to contribute as well as learn.
I've been attempting a stained glass like video collage effect using FCP.
If you can imagine something like this:
mirakkulglassware.com/blog/wp-content/up...3/Stained-glass2.jpg
with various video clips representing each shape.
To make it even more challenging I'm imagining each shape moving around in a blob-like fashion.
To keep my question simple - is there anyway to create something similar to this in FPC?
Animating the shapes of various video clips like that.
If so - how?
I don't know how easy or difficult it could be.
Would Motion be useful in doing something like this?
I found a great plug-in for molding shapes out of clips here:

I spent some money and bought FCPX with Motion. Teaching myself the programs and figuring out my system of approaching these things is exciting but this kind of non-linear animated collage idea has stumped me.
Any words of wisdom or direction pointing would be much loved . . .
Thanks.
