This is a problem. It reduces your available VRAM. Unplug it for now, should make things go smoother.

Bob Correa replied to the topic 'SliceX' in the forum.I don't FB because...well don't get me started

I wish there were another way to get on the beta test. Guess ill see if T(witter) is an option as well.
As well, I wish it were possible to post to blog stories on this site without FB.

Bob Correa replied to the topic 'Finder Dock & FCP X Scrub issues!' in the forum.paurraay, are you using FCPX in full screen mode? I've had the dock disappear when using full screen and I have to hit Esc, to get the dock. Then I can usually go back to full screen. I'm not using The Touch.
Can't recall for sure, but I think it's happened to me with Apples Aperture 3 app as well.

Bob Correa created a new topic ' File size difference after Duplicate Project' in the forum.I'm archiving projects in the following way with 10.0.8:
1. Create a Sparse disk image
2. Dragging a Project to the new image
I then intend to delete the projects from the original source disk.
I am moving 5 Projects to the image.
After the 5 Projects moved I see that the total file size in the image is 16.9GB while the total file size of the 5 Projects on the original drive is 27+ GB.
Can someone explain this difference? Am I not "backing up" everything I expect I am from the Final Cut Projects folder?
Thanks, Bob

Bob Correa replied to the topic 'Experiences/Benchmarks using Hybrid 2.5 HDD externally and internally' in the forum.Dave, I'm maxed out at 8gb RAM. I usually quit most apps to edit. 1080p native AVCHD editing is painful, 720p pretty good. When ProRes converted, no problems and the drive has been fast and reliable. Just hope I won't need to use my AppleCare for hardware issue as they tell me my config is not supported. I'd have to swap out the drives again first. -Bob

Bob Correa replied to the topic 'Is FCPX almost feature complete?' in the forum.Decades ago I worked for a company that had an Apple II database program. I was doing tech support...the owner/programmer once said to me, "No great program is ever finished."

Anybody know why when I save my Avatar after cropping, it doesn't post as my profile pic?
