Klaus Andreassen replied to the topic 'How to save project on both computer and external hard drive?' in the forum.Neguah wrote:Serously, klausre? Nothing should be that advanced!Hi, if you like to have the backup to a disk that FCPX can see, you need a solution to unmount it, so fcpx doesn't have problems whit mixed referees. This is the way it works for now. I don´t use it in this advanced mode my self;
I use CCCto backup every thing, but I use an NAS as the destination, and fcpx can´t see the NAS-disk-drive, so I just have set up an regular backup from my MAC to the NAS every-time I hit the Run in CCC Scheduler Tasks.

Klaus Andreassen created a new topic ' The correct way to archive a Final Cut Pro X Project - for me?' in the forum.I use FCPX as our / my family movie library where all the video imported into Events (in the same way as I do whit Aperture). Here I create Keyword collections of children's and family's name, as well as for other general and repeating situations. The goal is to retrieve all the clips of a person or a situation at some point. As I'm more interested in the Events/ org. video-files than the actual finished project when I exported the project to a master file and up to my Vimeo account - although they also may have a value later. My projects often refer to Events with light leaks and other 3 party media files for effects and general projects.
As of today, do I backup the entire working disk, where I delete renderers and HQ files of completed projects to save space. The reason why I can not backup per project, is precisely the ability to use any material when having to put together a new project in the feature. I can\t see my self doing anything whit a old Project - if now it\s for a learning point of view.
When an Event and Project is "done using", I hide this / these with 'Event Manager', to release hardware capacity/ memory for FCPX. But I will eventually get into a situation where there are large amounts of data to be available, and thus consider a form of archiving. But I\m unsure about "The correct way to archive a Final Cut Pro X Project" is the correct method for me/ my use.
Does anyone have experience and input for how archive should be done here? The working drive is a Pegasus R4 (4TB) and I have continuous backup to a NAS with CarbonCloner.

Klaus Andreassen replied to the topic 'Feedback for small Project: "Perfect moments at Skiathos"' in the forum.Hello, and thank you for a well written response. Good to hit the mark for once
I like you´re "walk through" and I will continue to work to find new motives that can make these movies more interesting to watch for others.
In retrospect, I see that it would have been better to use the zoom in on more/ multiple clips, and work more for making it even more integrated whit the music.
You are a huge motivator - so thank you!!!

Klaus Andreassen created a new topic ' Feedback for small Project: "Perfect moments at Skiathos"' in the forum.Some funky memories of autumn holiday 2012 (week 40), at Skiathos (Greece). I know family videos it's you're favorite, but I think you could give me a feedback for/ on how I have put it together, the color correction, and the use of effect. You need to music volume to get the funky part...
I love to get a solution for steady- and slide-cam, and I can see the need for more manually focus work, to get mot out of every situation.
Filmed with Panasonic SD900, edited in FCPX with various 3rd Party Effects.
