A drummer, 15 GoPros and a very busy Final Cut Pro 7 timeline

The bullet time or timeslice technique was made very popular by The Matrix and as a result it has been done before and done again. What we liked about this musical version was the complexity of the FCP 7 timeline in the BTS video. And you thought your edits were complicated!
Getting a high dynamic range look from GoPro footage with CrumplePop's HDR for GoPro plugin

The recent Protune update that increases the bit rate on GoPro cameras has led to sharper, more saturated pictures. CrumplePop has released HDR for GoPro, a $49 plugin for Final Cut Pro X that can use all the extra data to give footage that high dynamic range look.
Lightning fast organisation of media in Final Cut Pro X

A lot has been said about the media organisation tools in FCPX, but it is always good to see real life examples in action. In this new episode of Macbreak Studio, we take a look at how quick it can be to get your footage organised.
RE:Vision Effects release the Pro version of Twixtor for Final Cut Pro X
Whilst we were all watching the keynote speech text blog on Monday, RE:Vision effects released the pro version of Twixtor for FCPX. Many thanks to Michael Horton at LAFCPUG for the tip.
The video streaming WiFi BacPac and Remote make the GoPro even cooler

How could you make a GoPro cooler? Add a WiFi BacPac that you can control with a waterproof remote and also stream the video to your mobile phone. We're impressed.

***Updated with new GoPro HD Hero2 demo video***
We are big fans of GoPro's, they seem to have taken adventure sports videos to a new level. Now GoPro have released an update, the GoPro HD Hero2.
Shooting a surfing timeslice effect at sea with a 48 GoPro camera array - Amazing
Wow is all we can say. 48 GoPro cameras all running in an array filming a surfer at sea, you know it's going to be impressive.
A Phantom Flex, An Arri Alexa and two GoPro Heroes
Three videos of three completely different cameras, three different uses for three different users. We started this post with Rick Young from MacVideo being shot at 4,000 FPS but though we'd add a few more videos to make a roundup.
How to edit 3D in FCPX using Stereo 3D Toolbox Lite
The ability to edit 3D material wasn't included in the list of features of Final Cut Pro X when it was launched in June. Dashwood Cinema Solutions have plugged that gap by updating their 3D editing tools for FCPX.
GoPro reprice Neo packages, $299 for CineForm Studio Premium, $999 for CineForm Studio Professional

Wow, some big price cuts on the Neo workflow packages, the big 3D pack looks like it is now nearly a third of the original price. GoPro are definitely trying to make their mark in the world of 3D editing.
Visualising 3D Convergence in GoPro Cineform Studio Tutorial
GoPro are used to riding waves, well they made them by purchasing CineForm, and here's a great tutorial of their new software bundle at work, providing a superb visualisation of how to fix convergence. Will we see this 'more iMovie' than Firstlight GUI/engine power Neo3D for FCP?
If the GoPro cameras weren't cool enough, now you can film yourself doing dangerous things in 3D
So the big news over the last week was that GoPro had bought CineForm and now we know why, the 3D combining & editing of two GoPro camera movies. The software is a free download too - what will that mean for Neo?
++ We urge you to watch the GoPro 3D Hero highlight reel on Youtube as we cannot embed. It is pretty amazing ++
Timelapse Fest, A GoPro crash off a mountain and a Philip Bloom 4 camera epic
We felt a bit guilty posting a timelapse of an Avid editor the other day so to readdress the balance, here's a timelapse of an FCP editor at work on a GoPro project, he's on day 85 of 365. Loads more videos after the break including an amazing fall off a mountain.
Timelapse? Who needs a DSLR when you can use GoPro?

So we've been there before with our 1000fps slomos in Twixtor and in Motion as well. But while we were looking at DSLRs to create cool Time Lapse effects, there's always somebody out there tinkering with new cameras and FCP. More after the break.
