Wow! Two great bits of FCP news in two days. The new MacBook Pros that have been released today feature 'Thunderbolt' Apples branding of Light Peak technology from Intel.

We knew that Intel had developed Light Peak with help from Apple. Then right at the last minute before the new MacBook Pros were announced, the name changed to Thunderbolt. Or did it? Guess who has applied to register the name as a trademark.

Is Canon the first camera company to announce support for Thunderbolt? This is huge news

Matrox add Thunderbolt to their product range with an adapter for exisiting units and built in support by July

A smart move by Matrox. Not only will new MXO boxes have built in Thunderbolt by July, they are also releasing an adapter for those of us who have a unit already.

Matrox announce their Thunderbolt adaptor, works with new and existing MXO2 products

Matrox have taken a different approach to Thunderbolt connectivity with their I/O products compared to other manufacturers. Instead of building new models with Thunderbolt connectors, the adaptor allows new and existing products to use the superfast technology.

CalDigit show Thunderbolt connectivity with ThunderExpress
