Stream the HDMI output of your DSLR over Wifi using Teradek's shoe mounted Cube

In the past it's always been a bit of a problem getting a monitoring signal out of a DSLR so other people can watch. Indiespot.tv caught up with Teradek's Rod Clark at the DV Expo.

Take a look at ClipTouch, a Final Cut Server client for the iPad, developed to enable the use of iPads as review tools instead of having to maintain costly review workstations. At just $14.99 it's well worth the purchase. More after the break.

FCP Playhead App for iPhone and iPad

This is the latest really cool FCP app for the iPhone which also scales for iPad. There is a version for iPad on its way. Really instructive video tutorial from Taz Goldstein and Steve Martin. The audio is out of sync, but loads of great details. We love adding markers, subclipping, labels and names and all for just $2.99! All the links you need after the break. *UPDATE* We have replaced the video with a corrected version.

Randy Ubillos, the father of FCP, demos iMovie for the iPad2. What can we learn?

Randy_Ubillos

***Updated with embedded event video***

So no news from Apple about Final Cut Pro at the iPad2 event. However Randy Ubillos who headed up the team that gave birth to Final Cut over 10 years ago, was on stage to talk about iMovie. Is there anything we can learn?

iMovie on the iPad. Worth a watch as some of the features might be coming to an NLE near you soon!

If you haven't got your hands on one yet, then take a look at this iPad demo video from Apple. Could some of the features shown here in iMovie find their way into the new Final Cut Pro?

Playmobil Apple Store Play Set from ThinkGeek

We thought about a 'special story' for today but decided against it, so why not just post one that we found and laughed at this morning. We love this video from ThinkGeek, especially the first person in the add-on queue. Enjoy.

If you really want to talk about radical FCP GUI design, then how about using this method to display 3D?

Well the puck could certainly have travelled to here by the time the new FCP gets released. Amazing video of what you can do with the iPad2, wearing no silly glasses either! A bit of a tenuous link, granted but at least it breaks up the NAB stories.

FCPX on the iPad

fcpx_on_the_iPad

Whoa! hang on, don't spit your coffee out, this isn't a standalone Final Cut Pro X app running on an iPad, it's actually FCPX running remotely. We've seen this before but here Matts Macintosh shows us how well the GUI would work if FCPX was an iPad app. Interesting and frightening.

Storyboard Composer HD now available for the iPad

storyboard_composer_hd

When the iPhone version of this storyboard creation app was launched, we thought it was pretty cool but maybe the size of the iPhone made everything a bit fiddly to work. Now Cinemek have released a version that also works on the iPad which gives the app a new lease of life with the extra real estate.
