We can all say that while we've been here there have been new features added, improvements, etc. We're growing together, this place is a positive environment.

There's another aspect I appreciate. You may know there are several other so-called FCP sites on the web, I subscribe to some of their Twitter feeds, just to keep a finger on the pulse of what's going on. However, even though these guys have FCP in their name, they continually promote Avid, Premier, etc. Not so here.

There's a sense of loyalty here to Apple & FCPX. We overlooked the initial shock of the FCPX release, were able to look past the change & see the beauty of it all, recognizing that this is indeed the future of filmmaking. Some people can't see it, still.

Long time Apple guys, my ex editors, used FCP for years professionally, on big gigs too. Yet to hear them badmouth Apple now, spewing bile at FCPX, when they've never even tried it, disgusting.

But maybe some people will never get it, they're incapable, or wired wrong for this kind of creative tool. Remember the Think Different ad campaign? Perhaps FCPX is a kind of litmus test, or filter to reduce the talent pool, refining the few to rise to the top, blossoming creatively inside this marvelous mechanism allowing us to flourish while they wither.

FCP.co, we talk about film & various flights of fancy, but always moving forward inside FCPX, not abandoning it on a fickle whim, just because there's a new curve we need to adjust to. Trying to explain Mac to my peecee friends is often futile, many of them just don't get it, attempting to promote FCPX to some of my old FCP friends also fruitless. Some people will just never get it.

FCP.co gets it.

I couldn't agree more with you! I have had the "luxury" ,as I now know it ,of transitioning to FCPX from iMovie instead of FCP. During my transition , this site and it's members have been my go-to place for anything and just about everything FCPX. I have been blown off by numerous people that I have met personally when I asked questions about how-to-do certain things regarding video. But on this site, there isn't one member of FCP.CO who hasn't answered a message about the questions that I have had over the last year and more importantly they all made me feel that it was "okay" that I was just starting out. I started on a flip camera and iMovie and now on a DSLR and FCPX and there is no way that the transition would have been as smooth without this site. This site, it's members and admins have helped literally change my journey and for that I am very grateful. Just before Christmas I shot my first paying promo video for a local business and it went very well. I was very nervous and while shooting and editing I often thought back to things I learned on this site. Thanks again for this post, and for all the time it takes to operate this site. Blessings. :cheer:

It's an attractive site for FCPX adopters for sure. I considered changing from PC to mac a few years back I had built a system to run XP64 that done great with Adobe Premiere/After Effects and Avid. Then with everything starting to need Vista I considered Mac, but was put off by it's early 64bit stage, and Windows 7 came out, so things were good.

A couple of years later Lion and FCPX appeared, and it was job done.

This site was very attractive due to the members being very open minded about FCPX, a bunch of people who could see the light at the end of the tunnel.

One more we should bring up is the freebies we can grab from here. Without the generous folks here this would not happen. So a big thanks to them :) :) :)
