CrumplePop release Finisher for Final Cut Pro X

Finisher makes it easy to dramatically improve the quality of your footage. By simply dragging and dropping Finisher onto your clip, you can quickly and easily recover detail, apparent latitude, and vibrant skintones. Finisher works with Final Cut Pro X only.

Dang, I missed the offer. Would be very interested in an in-depth review, whether it's worth the 75 bucks compared to other color grading options (incl. native FCP X). Cheers!

Well, I did buy the Finisher, but haven't had much of a chance to try it out. Looking at it in Motion, I realized that it was merely a clever, though quite basic, combo of three native Motion filters & a composite, not unlike something I'd played around with myself in Conduit. Not sure how I feel about that. I really don't mind paying for someone else's recipe, when the success of that recipe is a product of the "cook's" experience and expertise. But I find the price for this one "preset" rather high in comparison with the brilliant entire cookbooks you get from the folks who make, respectively, mLooks and Luster-Grade Presets. I expected custom code for the price of Finisher, I have to admit.

Which brings up an interesting and probably soon quite relevant or even contentious topic about the marketing of effects for FCP X & Motion. Ought developers be transparent about what their product actually is? And I think it's a bit more complex that "well, if it does the job it advertises, I shouldn't care". Me, I'd like to know. I was actually (positively) blown away when I realized that mLooks are all made from Motion bits and therefore fully customizable. It's the best $39 I have spent on software this year. I would have paid double that. Motion VFX also don't disclose in their advertising that these mLooks are "real" presets, and therefore fundamentally different (also in terms of what I can do with & to them) than say Mojo. At the same time, their mFlares has a custom interface and, presumably, code.

If anyone finds this pertinent, I'll start a thread; I already have a few more thoughts on the issue.

Interesting you say that, that is why I do not recognize this as a Filter more as a Template.
I hope Apple may bring a lock or pass function for the Smart Motion Templates/Rigs.

But back on the Topic... I also would like to see some user examples.
