When creating a compound clip I'm getting shifts in the magnetic timeline. Any idea why? Here's a video :

your first 'clip' in your selection is a dissolve, so the Compound needs the other half of that dissolve = the clip before.
All fine …

Thanks for the reply, I thought the same thing, but here you can see that there are no transitions, and the clip swaps places with he preceding clip -

His compound clip is included the whole gap clip to the left of the transition. I'm trying to duplicate, and mine only takes in the transition, but not the whole clip before the transition. So yes, I see a discrepancy here. Not sure what's going on. No known bugs for this to my knowledge.

The second video is "unavailable" to me.

… the newly CC swaps places with the gap-clip before (left arrow in my screenshot), it appears behind he CC.
=> as using the P(position)-tool

And the first video shows, while the process, the Project loses its icon …

Could be some 'thick fingers'-problem = incidentally using keys …

So I've isolated the problem. It was only occurring after a certain point in the project. Everything before it would group properly. I had some connected clips grouped above a gap clip , and the issue disappeared once I moved those to the primary storyline. Very strange.

I'm unable to duplicate the behaviors you're having, sorry.
