Hi
Since I updated fcpx to 10.4.6 and Mojave to 10.14.4 on my macpro 2013, fcp is slowed down after a computer sleep.
I can't read the timeline correctly, it s jerky, it jumps frames.
I have to restart the computer and everything is ok.

I deleted preferences, I used onyx... nothing changed.
What can I do ? pluggin problem ? reinstall FCP ? reinstall Mojave ?

Thanks

I'm not seeing this, can you post the specs of your Mac and your storage?

You might need to reset the SMC on your Mac, especially if you have never done this or it has been a long time since you did. Here is the Apple document explaining how to do this. support.apple.com/en-us/HT201295

My mac is a macpro 2013 3.5Ghz 6 core + 64Go RAM + D700
Libraries are on a pegasus R4 raid 10

I did a SMC reset
I did a VRAM reset
I deleted FCPX, Motion and reinstalled them
I reinstalled mac 10.14.4 with the combo
nothing changed

I disconnected the pegasus and tried with a new library on the macpro drive but after sleep / wake up, timeline plays jerky, beach ball and frames are missing.
The problem disappears when I use best performance instead setting, but comes back with best quality.

Only the restart solve the problem

Maybe the problem comes from a plugin ? I have color finale, fxfactory and a lot of free plugins (effects and transitions)

It's almost as if a hard drive is taking too long to wake up. In System Preferences, in Energy Saving, I usually click to prevent my Mac from sleeping when the monitor goes off, and more importantly, prevent drives from sleeping. I also turn off Power Nap. Not sure if any of those will help, but the issue is not with the apps, it's with the system. I would bet, if you had other very recourse intensive apps like these, they'd be slowing down, also, after the Mac goes to sleep.

Thanks for your help.

I agree, I think it's a Mac OS problem or maybe a graphic card problem.
Power Nap always turned off.
Sometimes I have to sleep the computer.

I had a new issue after a sleep my 2 screens (3840x2160 - connected on bus 2 and bus 1) looked like they were set to mirror !!! I had to restart to clean this bug.

I tried to play a complex scene in Cinema4D but It wasn't slow down.

I don t understand, I never had this kind of problems before.
I just have to restart but it's annoying

Again, set it to not sleep. The screen can still go blank.

I'll just assume there's more than 20% free space on your system drive.

After it does wake up, launch Activity Monitor. See if there are any suspicious processes running, or anything that's failing to respond.

Running First Aid in Disk Utility wouldn't hurt, either.

If nothing else helps, having the local Apple retail place look it over could be an idea.
