I just received a message trying to open an older project - doc could not be opened - permission denied - already in use by Laptop, etc. This is presumably the laptop I'm using so makes no sense. Has anyone else run into this? thx

Yes, seen it twice, long ago. There's a file inside the Library bundle that is corrupted. Forget which one it is, but you delete it, the issue goes away.

I've had it more than once. Usually after a crash or forced abort.
Reboot has always fixed it for me

Thanks. Rebooting didn't help. Not sure how to locate a corrupt file. I'll look around. I used a back-up to work around it.

Have this happen sometimes where for some odd reason one of the other 7 computers on the network has latched itself onto the library, even if it isn't so.

From what I remember, turning off FILE SHARING in Preferences sets things straight again for me. The other thing is to reset FCPX on launch which clears out preferences and last library opened. Then open that library ONLY and see if it corrects matters.
