My Comparison Viewer has gone totally wonky.
Was working fine after updating to FCPX 10.4.6(On High Sierra) , then suddenly the Timeline previous and next edit frames got stuck on Timeline frames from editing I did over a week ago. While the Saved Frames and Frames browser still work just fine, if you switch to the Timeline viewer, it never changes the 2 frames for viewing.
Deleted preferences, re-installed FCPX, moved Timeline Project to New Library, and the only thing that changed was one of the Timeline frames (Next Edit) changed to a frame near the end of project, not where the playhead was. The Previous Edit frame is still stuck on week ago frame. Now the Next Edit is stuck on a frame on my end credits.
This is a major PITA and loss of a nice feature for color correcting.

Anyone experience this issue?
Anyone know of a way to clear up the cache for the comparison viewer?

Occasionally, I get black gaps in Timeline while applying additional CC and the only way I have found to close the gaps is to quit FCPX and relaunch. Thought 10.4.6 was supposed to fix this issue. Was present in 4.5 as well and was one reason I updated.
Thanks, Greg

Hi Greg,
I am not seeing any weird behavior using the latest FCPX with latest Mojave, so maybe HS is the issue. Saved frames in the comparison viewer are always available for any project within the library you saved them in, so you can try a couple of things if you haven't already.

In the frame browser, delete every saved frame you have. I would think this would at least prevent the frames from old edits from appearing.
Clear the FCPX preferences and reboot. I haven't tried to see if this also clears saved frames for the library, but it might. If nothing else, it may restore the functionality of the Comparison Viewer and is typically recommended every time you update FCPX.
Try your testing in a completely new library, which should not include any of the frames you saved in another library.
Try exiting the Comparison Viewer by changing to a different workspace, and then try re-enabling it.
Finally, although I couldn't locate a specific cache folder for the Comparison Viewer, you might be able to clear it out by deleting the workspace file for FCPX, including any custom saved workspaces. The path is USER/Library/Application Support/Final Cut Pro/Workspaces. You can also open the workspace folder in the finder direct from within FCPX (Window - Workspaces - "Open Workspace folder in Finder").
Hopefully something here helps.
