I often import video onto my laptop with FCPX by connecting with a lightening wire. Recently this has stopped working; probably because of an update for my iphone or for FCPX. I can see some videos but for some reason I can only see videos older than February 2019. I can still import videos from my phone but I have to do a time consuming work-around: I have to import to Photos first and then import to FCPX. So that's really annoying. Does anyone know how to fix?

Import no longer working with my iPhone

Well, import works so far, also with other people's iPhones, after a "Do you trust this computer?" dialog. But I think I have a related problem, and that is transferring videos (or music) from my iMac to my iPhone. Background is, I suppose, that I have a very big iTunes Library on an external drive. This grew larger and larger through the years . And effectively only works one way: adding more stuff. Now I can *add* items from the iPhone, but not the other way around, unless I manually save them in the cloud. What is similar (on the outside) to your description is that everything before 2018 can be transferred.
If anyone could advise me how to consolidate/update the Library while allowing it to remain external, I will be very thankful. Didn't find the answer through Google. Sorry for the OT.
