Long story short, my external hard drive with the original library and files is dead and I desperately need the backup library to work. My backups save directly to my computer.

On import, the files are set to be copied to library storage location and to create proxy and optimized media. But, as you can see from the attached images, there are no original files or proxy files in the backup. When I open the backup, it has the edits saved, but the clips are missing the actual files.

1. Is there anything that can be done to recover the original media?
2. Why aren't my backups saving properly?

The FCP backups are only the data files, not the library media. That’s why they’re so sm all. If you have camera archives you might be able to use the report from camera function
