So my clients have given me DPX sequences to edit a montage for them. I'm converting them in after effects to .MOV (apple pro res 4444)and then importing them into FCP X to edit. But I think this method is causing too much loss of information to the footage. Is there a better way to work with DPX files in FCP X? Any help would be appreciated. Thank you.

How to work with DPX footage

Most image sequence are not really supported in FCPX and definitively not high bit rate DPX sequences. You should use DaVinci Resolve to do your conversion to ProRes , it has a famous and better color science than AE you could always round trip to your original DPX to readjust your conversion settings and back using fcpxml...or do your final grading in DVR.
All Workflow should be tested before hand with a single shot.
