Hello, new here so I apologize if there is another area I should have posted this.

I'm editing a 4K multicam video on my iMac Pro. I have the full library on a Samsung T5 1tb SSD (verified that all media is housed in the library on the SSD). I previously was using a spinning disk drive but was dropping frames during playback.

What could be my issue here if I'm still dropping frames using an SSD? I've edited dozens of other videos like this and it was fine using the SSD. I also have background render turned off.

Check your cable. The Samsung T5 ships with fairly short, thick USB-C-to-C cables. If any other cable is used or a USB hub is used it can cause major performance loss. You can check this by running BlackMagic Speed Test on the T5. It should be about 500 MB/sec.
