Hi! My name is Marcus Johnson and I work for NewBlue. We make effects, transitions & titling software for a variety of NLEs and have been supporting FCP since version 6.

For those of you that have the time to read this and respond, I've got a few questions I would like to ask:

1. Have you heard of NewBlue before? Do you own (or have you owned) any of our products?
2. Are there any plugins (from any company) that you have purchased specifically to use in FCP X?
3. Are there are effects, filters or any other addons that you feel would be very useful in FCP X that aren't available?

I really appreciate your time everyone. Thank you so much!

How is this not an attempt at free advertising, for a company that doesn't support FCPX?

Hi Ben,

I apologize, I'm certainly not meaning to come off as a salesperson here. We actually do support FCP X and have for quite awhile. With the exception of our latest Titler Pro version 7, our products can and do work in FCP X (and we're working on finishing the support for Titler Pro 7 as well).

But you do get to the heart of the matter: basically I want to find out how many FCP X users actually know about us and if anyone uses our products. We certainly want to support FCP X users and if we're not making a product that you want, I'd love to find out why.

@ Ben: Peter gave approval for this 'survey', he knows the nice guys from NB … :)

@ Marcus: for a start, where on your highly professional website do I find info about support of FCPX?? :silly: ok, spent just a few minutes clicking' around, but no list of supported NLEs (when I read 'Avid', I 'know' nothing here for me), no videos/screenshots of your plugins in action in FC....

No you don't, you do not list FCPX as a compatible NLE with any of your products. Where is your FCPX support exactly on your web site so I can see it?

So, to cooperate with your survey:
1. Yes, stopped using them in FCP7 when I had too much trouble with them and got very little tech support.
2. Yes, lots, and the same functions yours offer but for a fraction of the price you charge.
3. I have what I need, nothing is really missing from the FCPX ecosystem, but others may have different needs than I do.

I bought a plugin years ago called colour replace ( or something like that) It stopped working and I emailed them to reinstate my license ( which was not a bad experience) The thing is, I have been getting plenty of promo emails over the years and I always check out what they're offering, but, I can't trust it'll work in FCPX. There is NO SURE WAY their stuff works with FCPX. That's why I stick to FCPX only developers and not these general developers that want to sweep up as many customers as they can.
