// dl, unzip and drag into ~/Movies/Motion Templates/Titles //
(Yes, it’s an effect, but to take affect has to be in Titles!)

Have to admit: sharing left-overs from a schools project here ;)

CutlessJumpCut is a special breed of Adjustment Layer:
Gives best results when using high-res material in a low-res project, here: 4k in a 1080 timeline.

cljc1.jpg

Drag it from the Titles browser over your timeline… gives an instant zoom-in by 150% (preset).
When selecting the purple bar, you notice an OnScreenController, which allows to adjust the position (click’n drag inner circle) and the scale (click’n drag outer circle).

Move the purple bar to any point in time, shorten/lengthen to your needs.

… comes handy when you frequently use those youtubish jump-cuts.
No, not my thing, but the kids like it … ;)
Enjoy movie-making! :)

I actually have to do this very often with a few TV shows I produce/edit. Shoot 4K, edit 1080, only so we can do zooms and such without additional cameras on live takes. This is actually making it a bit quicker to deal with. I set it as default Title Template, and I can do those zoom cuts a bit quicker. Wondering why I didn't think of this myself a long time ago. Thanks, very useful here!

glad you like it, Ben!

Forgot to mention the Default trick… then, it's really fast due to keyboard artistic … ;)
What we did here:
Listen to the audio and while playback, hammer ctrl-T on the In.point and stopped playback (shift bar) to adjust the out.point = that is two keystrokes and a mouse-click, what otherwise is two blades and several mouse-clicks to select & set scale numbers in the Inspector .....

Use copy/paste, if you constantly need other settings… (or, modify in Motion, create several 'Titles', 150%, 180%, 240% …)
And I'm a fan of OSCs …
Because it's titles, you can also do fun stuff with the Index, mute all applied zooms, etc etc....

… for my busy teenagers @school, every second counts! LOL

and as a quick reminder (not for you Ben, you know this trick) how to fake Multicam with a single camera, an older article of mine:

I'm a big user of Opt-Drag for repetitive connected titles. Once I have my multicam edit done, I go back through, in the cases we only have 1 or 2 cameras, Mark (M) ever place I want to enlarge a clip to add fake angles, or get more personal. Then go back and add titles while I'm enlarging and repositioning those marked spots.

This way, I can copy the first one, then just Cmd-V every spot I want to enlarge. Or Opt-Drag, which ever I'm in the mood for that day.

Let me tall you, OSC along with my OCD will be the death of me...

Since you're a big fan of OSC, have you tried Cinema Grade?
