OK this is my shot at trying to make rain on a pane of glass…(What a pane in the (gl)ass)! Get it?? NO?? I know…sick humour. Oh well…
This is a title effect that will go above any video(photo) clip in FCPX providing a choice of a number of different glass panes and a choice several rain drop effects on that glass. You can also put your created text layer in front of, or behind the glass pane. By putting it behind the glass pane, you will see the water drips run through your text and refract your text. Depending on how you do your text layer(using FCPX's many text parameters) there are a number of different effects highlights you can achieve with the text seen through the different types of glass available. There are also a number of key framable exposed parameters for additional effects.
There are 15 different glass panes to choose from. Everything from frosted to etched to pre-soaked rain clear glass , and so on. The user can adjust hardness strength of the chosen glass pane.
Choice from 7 different rain drops patterns on the glass(or none at all)
Add a color tint to the glass.
Use the ambient light to lower(or raise) the overall lighting effect. This is good to help make a rainy scene, more somber.
Several blur effect parameters are also exposed to add your own combination of compound or variblur effects to the scene.
