At the recent LACPUG in February, it was 'The Art of the Trailer' night. We are very pleased to see that Michael Horton has just published the 50 minute presentation from editor David Yocum and David James Rosen who together, crafted the excellent Bohemian Rhapsody trailer.

Trailers are quite close to my heart as I was employed by the largest broadcaster in the UK to cut trailers for their two channels. A lot of people turn their nose up at making trails, but it is an art and just because it's short, it doesn't necessarily mean it's quick to do.

To quote Mark Twain: "If I Had More Time, I Would Have Written a Shorter Letter."

This 50 minute presentation is a real insight into the thought process behind constructing a good trail. The music and sound FX used are essential elements for a good trail and this video is worth a watch just to hear where they got the music from for the first cut and how much the budget for music is for trails for Hollywood films!
