october plugin roundup

It has been a while since we have done a FCPX plugin roundup, so here are all the new plugin products from different developers that have been released over the last few weeks. There's a 25% off coupon code in there too!

We start off with not a new plugin, but a repeat test of one we mentioned back at the beginning of September. Photon Pro is a $29.99 noise reduction plugin for Final Cut Pro X that is available on the Mac App Store.

We published Florian Farenberger's original video review of the plugin which produced good results. He did a side by side test of Photon Pro against the Neat Video noise reduction plugin. Florian's just emailed us to say that he's just published a new version that's more succinct, looks more closely at the differences between the two plugins and takes into account the three updates to Photon Pro since the original video was released. A lot of graphics card bugs have been quashed.

Next up is a new product from longtime FCP fans DVcreators. They have released a pack of plugins called FilmStyles. Priced at $99 they give instant looks or styles from popular films such as Amelie, Minority report and 300.

They have very kindly given us a link and coupon code for FCP.co readers to get 25% off the purchase price. Use the code FCPCO50 at checkout.

MotionVFX has released a couple of new products recently.

MTitle Urban Pack is a $59 collection of 15 urban titles made especially for Final Cut Pro X

mLooks Vintage is a $29 collection of old film stock and flare looks for FCPX

On to a couple of new plugs from the FxFactory stable.

Hawaiki Style is a $49 set of 75 styles or effects that can be applied to text and logos.

Finally, a rather unique set of plugins from Stupid Raisins. Story Pop is a $99 collection of whiteboard animation elements.
