Longtime plugin producer SugarFX has upgraded two of its plugins to work with FCPX. MagiMoto and Bubble Buddy are now fully compatible with Final Cut Pro X.
It almost seems that every day either a new plugin or an upgrade is released for FCPX. Great news for editors as it shows the FCP ecosystem is bouncing back after X's release last year.
SugarFX have now refreshed two of their plugins to bring FCPX support, both updates are free to existing customers.
MagiMoto is a $49 plugin that will animate a picture on screen without having to keyframe parameters. You could say it's a bit like using behaviors within FCPX. Throw, spin, scale or even wiggle an element with ease and importantly, in realtime. The plugin has a trial mode and will also work with FCP 6 & 7, Motion 3, 4 & 5, Final Cut Express 4 and Adobe After Effects 8 to 11.
It's one of those products that's a lot easier to understand by watching a video than describing it in words:
SugarFX have also produced a MagiMoto tutorial.
And if you want to build more complex moves, you'll need to select the FX Designer in MagiMoto.
The second plugin upgraded for FCPX is Bubble Buddy, a way of overlaying text on video or photos in a speech bubble. This $49 plugin will again work with FCP 6 & 7, Motion 3, 4 & 5, Final Cut Express 4 and Adobe After Effects 8 to 11.
