MotionVFX launch mVintage a Final Cut Pro X plugin for that old film look

Another day, another light leak. This new $89 plugin from MotionVFX is worth a look though as it does more than just the ubiquitous light flashes we have seen so much of.

There's a lot more than overlaying light leaks to make your footage look like it was shot on an 8mm camera. Other elements involved include grain, scratches, weave and of course a suitable grade.

MotionVFX's mVintage $89 plugin for Final Cut Pro X and Motion5 achieves all this in one hit. Unlike other plugins that prepackage every look into a different effect, mVintage uses a custom GUI where not only pre-programmed effects can be called up, but they can be tweaked by adjusting, adding or removing the range of old film artifacts.

Priced at $89, it looks like a good set of effects to 'Vintage' your footage even though it's not a verb. MotionVFX have produced this tutorial video that shows you the ease in which you can transform your video into that old style film look.·
