This week's episode of MacBreak Studio sounds boring, but it contains some amazing demonstartions on how powerful the database can be in FCPX. Well worth a watch and then a rewatch.
Batch renaming, metadata, hardly attention grabbing names, but they are a lot sexier when the editor realises the power within the FCPX database.
In this new episode of MacBreak Studio, Steve Martin takes Mark Spencer on a trip through the renaming of clips using metadata in FCPX. We must admit to having to watch it through a couple of times as the video contains some great tips when it comes to media management. We particularly liked the addition of the counter into the custom preset.
We think that this video is a really good indicator of how the old system of bins in FCP7 really wasn't up to the task of handling the large and varied amount of media the average editor has to deal with today. Excellent stuff.
If you would like to take a look at the media management tutorial Steve mentions, you will find it over on the Ripple Training site.
