multi cam editing Mine can be pretty sluggish (i'm learning as I go along thanks to help on here) but things speed up if you convert your optimised files in FCP 'preferences'to proxy files (smaller files)
Make sure you convert back to Optimsed befor you send to compressor...

10.08 crashing a lot I agree. Corrupted fonts can wreak havoc. I would also be careful to keep the database files for your events under 100 mb in size. If they grow larger than that, it can cause severe slow downs and crashes.

Best Mpeg setting Hi Guys
really quick question.
What is the best MPEG setting for a short film that is going to be displayed at an AGM meeting onto a screen.
I gave the PR lady a "MPEG -2 transport stream 15mb" before but shes asked for something just a little bit...
