1:30am Tuesday the 5th, and the Apple online store is down. Routine maintenance or product updates?

Well, WWDC is next Monday, week away. I'm guessing it's just regular maintenance. But, who knows. We will see when the sun rises.

And the very next day, Apple TV gets a big update, and this.

And it looks like we may be getting new MP's after all. Of course this is only rumor until we hear it from the Apple CEO's mouth.

Did anyone hear the rumor that the MacBookPro is being abandoned? Specifically the 17" model?

Rumors state that Apple is going the AirBook route....

Lucky guesses don't count. It's all rumors until Apple officially says something.

Nothing on the 17" but here are some more rumors on the 15" Macbook Pro which should be still called Macbook Pro.
9to5mac.com/2012/06/05/possible-new-macb...-0-ports-thin-as-air
New MacBook Pro specs label surfaces: 2560 x 1600 display, USB 3.0 ports, thin as Air
While we obviously cannot confirm these purported technical specifications for the upcoming MacBook Pro revamp, an anonymous MacBook Pro packaging label was sent to us (above) earlier today. The labeling is of the same nature as the 13 inch MacBook Pro label leak from this morning – unconfirmed – but it does list some interesting specs.

Notably, the label seems to affirm much of what we reported in May: a much higher-resolution display, USB 3.0, and a thinner, lighter design. Specifically, the thinness of the 15 inch notebook is touted as 0.74 inches (compared to the current 0.95 inches) and a weight of 4.7 pounds (compared to the current model’s 5.6 pounds). This is almost as thin as a MacBook Air (.68″ thick) and not a whole lot heavier...

Lots and lots of redundant info here, folks.

Personally I'm going to wait until Monday and see what Apple actually says. I've seen this "we have now model numbers" and "Apple stock is low" rumors before when no new hardware was released. I'm very confident we'll see new hardware, but I'm not laying any money down on bets. When Apple says it, I'll know it's true.

I still don't see the point of absolutely having to edit on a tower anymore, unless you are doing 3D motion graphics or something even more sophisticated. The current generation or even next gen Macbook Pro is a great device for editors. I'll be interested to see how the next gen performs with the retina display, 1GB VRAM and 4x the resolution.

FCPX update is on its way, according to Engadget Liveblog.
