Which is why I pointed to quality training. Take quality training, and it does become simple. The point of the training, is that the simple basics quickly become the simple basics, and you're more able to piece together the puzzles yourself. Then we move on to the really awesome bigger puzzles.
I'm an old, long time educator and trainer, and I was once a very lost novice. I know fully well what it's like to just start off learning. Thus, the suggestion for training that will get you up and running quickly and properly.
And explaining something like split screens and masks in Motion isn't going to fit in a forum post. Thus, again, pointing to resources that will help you get there.
Hell, I'm learning 3 new apps right now, and I suck on them all. Totally lost, no clue. But I'm doing proper training, and step by step, I'll fly through them in no time. That's just how it works. Get proper training, fly.
