I got mFlare when it was full price and don't regret it. Anyone thinking of getting this needs to do it! The video above is done with a flip camera, and is an example of mFlare in action. I do realize the audio is bad and there are flaws in the video but it was done on a budget (free) for a friend and I didn't yet have any mic besides the one on the camera. I like to use colored mFlares on black and white footage.....it's weird but then again...I'm weird. Get mFlare...it's great, especially at half price. :silly:

I wonder if that means Knoll Light Factory for FCPX is just about to be released?

I doubt the the guys from MotionVFX really car too much about KLF as they're software was always way cheaper. But as a KLF license holder I'd be interested to see what RedGiant come out with. It's been a long time coming.

I don't think so. mFlare has been offered at half off at least once before. I paid full price for it and haven't regretted it.

Though the products don't share the same software space (neither works on the other's platforms), I think mFlare is pretty comparable to Video Copilot's Optical Flares from what I've seen in demos.

Good to know - I'll probably pick it up. I recently hear from Rad Giant that the next version of KLF would be FCPX compatible. Was going to hold out for that, but this is a good price on mFlare.

For those that use it in Motion 5, what is the workflow? Copy the clip you want to work with from FCPX, past in a new timeline, share it, import to Motion, work on it, share it from Motion, then import into FCPX and replace clip?

Is that the best way?

If you have other stuff to do to the clip in Motion, then yes- but be aware that mFlare works right inside FCPX as well. But let's hope that EXPORT TO MOTION returns to FCPX in 10.0.6.

If you do go to Motion though, I wouldn't replace the clip in your FCPX timeline when you bring it back. Either put it above the original, or maybe put it in an audition with the original- but keep the original material in the sequence just in case you ever need to go back to it.

Audition here would be best friend. :)

Well, KLF 3 released today and no FCPX support :( I specidically asked Red Giant about this and was told it would support FCPX. MFlare it is! Glad it's on sale today :)
