Just wondering if anyone else out there is using a DDP as their storage setup? We've been having a wee ingest and consolidation related crash and I'm just trying to see if anyone else has had the same problem. The manufacturer says they've had no reports of the error we're seeing so I'm trying to see if it's related to our setup or something else.
We're using a DDP here and I've editing 2x52' documentary on it.
On the first one i've had two times a problem with something like corrupted library. Medias were in external folders and library was on DDP.
For the second documentary, i've keep the library on my local SSD and haven't encounter any problem.
Have you ever had issues with ingesting footage if your library and media storage location are both on the DDP?
We have no problems with ingest if we have a library on an external drive, but if we try going from camera cards directly to the DDP storage then there is a 50-50 chance that the ingest will hang with a force reboot required.
In our workflow, we don't make ingest directly from camera cards. Producers give us External disk with copy of camera cards, we copy this disk on a data folder on DDP and then we do the ingest from this data folder. At this time, Library are on the internal SSD of the MacPro and medias on external Media Folders on DDP.
A thing i see is that we 've both encounter issue with the library on DDP.
The two times i've had corrupted library, (berfore migrating the library from DDP to internal SSD) i realized that it was twice on Wednesday. Is it a coincidence or does the DDP make some operation one database on day per week ?
