Hi there,

I wonder if someone can answer this for me.

I've imported some RED footage into FCPX and set it off transcoding to ProRes Proxies.

The quest I have is, is it normal for FCPX to create 2 proxy files for each RED file. It's creating a 4K proxy in ProRes 422 Proxy and also a 1920 x 1080 in ProRes 422 Proxy with .001 appended to the filename.

Why is it doing this and also, when in Proxy editing mode, which file is FCPX using?

Hopefully someone knows about this.

Cheers

Damian

Looks to me like the 4K ProRes is Optimized, not proxy. I think it was set it to do both proxy and Optimized media together.
