Ben requested to supply a video in the ITU-R BT.709 colour space. What’s the best way to do that from FCPX? (or compressor)

Or is that the standard output when exporting rec 709?

Unless you've changed your library settings to be in "Wide Gamut HDR", it will be in "Standard" which is Rec 709.

Easy way to see what's up is to click on the project you're working on and look at the Inspector. It'll tell you what color space you're working in.

Secondly, if you go to export your project, click on Settings. You can see the space it will export to from there.

Thanks!
knew that but wasn’t entirely sure if the ITU-R BT.709 was a special version of 709 that needed any special settings or conversions. So in other words as long as FCP is set to Rec 709 I’m getting ITU-R BT.709?

Yes indeed. Rec 709 is just short-hand for ITU-R BT.709
