Anyone using Artist.io are there any gotcha's to look out for or is it that good you can download as much music as possible. I assume it can be used for broadcast tv commercials?

That's what their advertising claims, so yes, should be OK for broadcast.

We're stuck with AudioBlocks, which is OK, but really lacks enough useful audio files. Does this company have a free trial?

No free trial unfortunately but looking through the site the quality of the music seems good so for $16 a month its really good value. It also works on a yearly basis

Just heads up, you might want to check their Licensing agreement, he had drop them last year.
Since the license is not transferable, the clients wasn't able to hold the license only subscriber.

More for the youtuber, but this was last year maybe it has changed.

How were you transferring the license to a client? Just curious. Because most royalty-free licenses are non-transferable. Who has a transferable license?

We have used Artlist.io for several projects, and the licensing model is pretty clear and simple. You can read about what it is exactly on their website. It's royalty-free in perpetuity for any project you create, and any project you create for a client. So it does cover the client, but the client cannot of course take that music and put it in something else. Why would you need anything else?

If for some reason the client wants to use that music on their own on something else, they would have to subscribe. Personally I think the library is pretty good, although their search needs to be able to be more detailed. It's certainly a really good deal at $200 annually.

With the proper commercial license... to go deeper into the subject I will have to link up with legal or my PM.

artist.io
3.5. The License is personal and nontransferable. Licensee is the person whose name is specified in the License purchase form. To the extent the user is a legal entity which is not a private individual, its name will be specified in the License purchase form and it will be the Licensee.

Does my license cover a client who hires me for a video project?

Yes! If you are hired to produce or edit a film for a client, your license covers them for their personal or commercial use of that specific project. The client can not use the music for a different project that is separate from the video production you were hired to.

Interesting, I might have to bring this back up.
