After years of uploading directly from from timeline/project I now get this message:

The share operation ”Vimeo MELONFILM
has failed.
Publishing to Vimeo Failed because file
- HD 1080p.mov is too large.
But its not I export it and make a manual upload it works OK,
The administrator has disabled public write access.

Is this larger than videos you’ve made in the past? (file size)

Maybe you hit a threshold on Vimeo that is different on application generated imports than if you did it manually. I could see them doing that. When they control the interface they can tell you “this thing is pretty big!” but they have less control if a black box is dumping huge files on their servers. Just a guess.

Thanks but no big files. And exporting a file and uploading manually always works.
The administrator has disabled public write access.

Sorry. Interestingly, I do use Vimeo upload, but only because it gives the best 4K export I can figure out with a relatively small file size. When I try to do a manual export from either FCPX or Compressor my file is either enormous, or grainy. Whatever settings it has for Vimeo export seem to be fine for me. (I then take the file out of the Library and usually ignore the private Vimeo upload).
