My client did a pre-edit in FCPX which I am now taking over.
Most footage was recorded in 4K (also some archival footage in SD etc).

He placed it into a 2K timeline 2048*1024. The video in the timeline was automatically sized to fit/fill by FCPX.
Now we have heard that we need to deliver 2048*1080. Slight difference.

If I change the project settings, the project gets some narrow bars above and below to compensate and maintain the correct aspect ratio.

Is there a way to make all shots fill/fit the new frame size, to get rid of the bars, without adjusting shot by shot?
TIA for any tips!

Select all the clips and set the spatial conform to Fill.
