I have read all night about this issue around the internet, and went through my entire system removing a lot of fonts from my system as well as other system diagnostics. Even downloaded pro-maintenance to try and clear this up. My crash report still says something about a font being bad, even though they are all validated.

It makes me think there is something else wrong because as I did find out that if I close my inspector, I can alter and change the content of a TITLE slide. Anyway wondering if others in this forum have this particular crashing issue.

I am on an iMac 10.7.3, 3.06GH, 8 GB 1067.

As it is now, I am not adding any TITLES to my project and will probably have to do them in screenflow afterwards.

Be sure you're up to date with all software updates.
In the File menu delete the render files of the Project and any Event associated with that Project.
Use Preference Manager to properly delete FCP X's preference files.

What OS and FCPX versions are you running?

Yeah it's 10.0.4 and I am on latest Snow leopard. I see that this is an issue in other FCPx discussions, but I have yet to find a resolution for this. I had previously deleted the preference fiels as well.

I was buried in this issue for hours and finally decided to add titles frames using pngs. Got the project done but kind of disappointing, this TITLE situation.

The most likely cause of this is a corrupt font. You might want to check the fonts and see if they're OK.

Begrudgingly, I spent a lot of time ripping some rather cool fonts out of my system already. I have ran the FontBook 20 times since then and there are no remaining "bad" fonts files that can be identified at least.

I also want to know why ONLY FCPx has a problem with a corrupt font, when all other video programs I have never did.

It was just a suggestion dude.

Every video app I've used has been effected by corrupt fonts, legacy FCP, Media100, Premiere, Avid.

Oh I know. I thank you very much ... was just reminded of all the time I spent trying to find a corrupt font... appreciate it.

I also have camtasia, screenflow, and premiere... just mentioning I never had a font issue with them.
