Anyone know or would like to speculate on what the thinking is behind changing the cross fade default from equal power to S-curve. I think It happened going into 10.0.3. It certainly was +3dB in the first few versions, and in the dozen or so years prior. S-curve works OK for a really short cross fade, but if you drag it out at all it sounds naff. S-curve is what radio uses to go between songs. Let's the DJ push a station ID in the middle; in video it's weird. Anybody can guess why the change?

Thanks.

I use them often, but I come from a composing and audio recording background. It's just an automated fader control, nothing more or less. It's not often used, but sometimes, handy to have.

Just very surprised they decided to change what used to the standard to S-curve as the default. Just seem very odd to me.

Yes, that is weird to use it as the default.

I hate this new default. I have sent feedback to Apple about this.
