I'm editing a multicam concert that's about 1:30 hrs long with about 5 different camera angles. 1 mp4 video, 3 canon T2i's, and 1 panasonic MTS I converted to prores. I transcoded all angles to proxy media for faster editing. I managed to get them all synced up, but when I start editing the multicam clip, all of a sudden one camera will go black and I can't see it in the viewer. Any suggestions? Am I doing something wrong, or is it a bug? Can I do something to fix this?

Thanks!

How strange is that? I haven't seen this problem, but I'm looking forward to see how you solve it. So you're saying that camera angle shows up in the Angle Editor, but not the Angle Viewer?

Hi there,

I finished a music video using 6 camera angles including exterior shots using one angle, main audio in another angle and the rest for different cameras.

Most likely a camera angle (in the angle viewer) goes black as there is no source footage at that particular time for that angle.

Just check this, by right clicking on the multi cam clip and open up the multi cam clip in the angle editor.

Hope this helps.

No, it's not that there is no source footage. In fact It was working fine for awhile and I made some edits switching between camera angles, but then one angle just went black and I don't know why. All the clips from that angle in the edit I had just finished also went black. I'm starting to convince myself that it's a bug...

Did you figure it out?
I was working on a multi cam edit today and I moved still images, clips back and forth between angles without any problems. I find it really useful to create the multi cam clip and then add new camera angles as needed. I even created angles as I needed them. Another useful trick is to import a clip which wasn't initially part of the multi cam clip and place and sync it all by itself on a spare camera angle. That way it can freely move to the right sync position without having other clips obstructing its movement.

Hope this helps
