Hi gang.

I was thinking of trying to pull off a stop action segment in one of my cooking videos. I just don't know if it's possible or feasible to do, because I have no idea how to pull it off.

Does anyone have any ideas of how to do a stop action effect in FCPx?

Something along the lines of this >

I wanted to clarify that I was thinking of trying to do this from VIDEO footage I already have, and do not have ind. picture files.

I have an effect on my "Template Master" app, on the app store, called "Frame Rate Emulator" that will get this effect but it's not a free one.

There is a preview video of what it does on the app but it's not a very good representation. I had been trying to keep everything neutral using placeholders instead of video for the previews, but I gave up on the idea. There is an update for the app awaiting review at the moment that has a better preview video using actual video.

No problem, it's a very simple effect. All you do is apply it to a clip, chose the frame rate to match the project and chose the frame rate you want to emulate. You can chose between 3, 6, 12, 18 & 24 fps emulation. It's a simple effect with nothing other than that needing done.

If you decide to go for it and have any problems let me know, but I shouldn't imagine you would have.

The app updates have been done, so you can see the video preview version now.
