I'm brand new to Motion 5 (just got it the other day) and I've been trying to do some basic text motion tracking. Every time I do either match move or analyze motion on a clip, the program never finishes analyzing. Sometimes I'll get to 60%, other times I'll get into the 90's, but it never ever finishes analyzing to 100%. Any tips on how to get this working properly?? Thanks in advance!

Are your tracking points in the Analyse Motion behavior going off screen, or out of sight in some manner?

I was pretty sure they didn't, but I suppose it's possible. If they did go off screen would that interrupt the analyzing?

Yes they will, but you can do some off screen tracking but I don't find the result as good as it should.

Is Motion 5 the only Application you have that has tracking feature. Incase you have Mocha this will be your better bet and you can export the tracking data to Motion.

Actually there is an "offset tracking" feature that works excellent when your tracking point goes off screen in Motion 5. It lets you pick up a new tracking point where the original one fails. Works great.

Motion has an estimating feature if it goes off screen like all others, but no real tracker does much when the point goes off screen.
