Because there can't be anyone who doesn't love a piece of shiny text now and then, here's a title effect that gives you just that, with some nice controls for even more shininess:

Note that because this effect uses gradient fills you can get some odd looking results, thanks to FCP X's rather poor handling of gradients at the moment. Changing the text scaling can help to get rid of these artefacts.
