Vrais Le Faux has made four free effects for Final Cut Pro X

MOODY - a grading plugin.
CHANNEL SPLIT - an RGB channel split effect based on scaling the channels independently, including the BW Ghost ;-0. A split based transition soon.
LIGHT LEAK - bitmap based light leak emulation.
GOOD LETTERBOX - A letterbox with selectable ratios and the ability animate the vertical offset.

Just drop the whole folder (VLFfx) into your ~Movies/Motion Templates/Effects folder.

so if we do not have motion we can't use this???

thanks for the awesome plugins. I'v installed into the relevant folder. Can you guide me as to where i find them within Motion 5 to access them now? Im assuming Library... but then where?! Many thanks in advance.

The project browser shown at Motion start-up will have the effects listed in the "Final Cut Effects" category on the left of the screen. If you're opening into a blank effect project you can use the file browser to get to the .moef file.

Or, if you have FCPX open, you can use the right button "Open in Motion" option from the Effects browser.
