Magic Bullet Doubt You mention installing the suite. I believe there are only two programs in the suite compatible with FCPX -- Looks & Mojo. Do those plugins install?

trying to put FCPX footage into Logic Pro 9....... Apple has to make them talk to each other, and Logic hasn't been updated since before FCP X was released.
In Logic Pro, go to File > Open Movie.
This will open the selected movie into a floating window. Close that window if you desire.

In Pixlemator (or Photoshop) crop out whatever and isolate it.
Import that newly created PNG back in FCP X.
Edit that as a connected clip above the outgoing clip.
