Hello,
I've been seeing this filter (I think its a filter) used in a lot of videos lately, specifically music videos and I would like to use it. sort of has a nostalgic feel, but not really at the same time. Hoped maybe some of you fine folks would be able to help tell me what it is. Here are some examples.
Much Appriciated!

In your Effects browser you'll see many color treatments that are similar to this retro look, probably with various names. Essentially it looks desaturated, all of the colors are dulled, maybe with bleach bypass. You won't have to buy a special plug but can use FCPX's built in effects.

Using the search engine here at FCP.co with "color grading" brings up a few posts.

Here's a tip on the topic from CreativeCow

Once you start playing around with the color controls in FCPX you might find you enjoy the power this gives you over the process & might actually prefer it to using one of the 1 click filters.

Either way, you should be able to get the precise look you seek.
