It's true. It really can't be denied. Soldered, minuscule, and unexpandable storage on laptops called "Pro". Computers that turn the fan on to a billion RPM if Apple doesn't approve of the RAM you use. They haven't even thought about the Mac Pro since 2013, and that Mac Pro was underwhelming (source: I have one). No Mac Pro in the future.
I don't want a computer with a built-in screen. I want a computer that offers actual expandability. I am a professional, but Apple's hardware is anything but. It's for people who don't know anything about computer hardware. And that's fine if they have models like that. But that should not be ALL they offer. Right now, my best option is a Mac Mini with an eGPU. But even that lacks in performance compared to PCs, not to mention is a lot more expensive.
Anyone else getting tired of paying more for less? I expect the answer to be "No we love it give it to us harder!" because I feel I'm the only one here who would dare even think to maybe criticize Apple. But I don't think I'm off base at all. I love FCP and most things about the Mac OS. But Apple's hardware game is weak. People make fun of them all the time. And I don't feel that those people are off base either.
God I wish Steve Jobs didn't die. He was a horrible human being, but he knew a lot more about giving us stuff we want than Tim Cook does.
I agree with Stu, the constant negativity is getting old. Go use a OC and stop complaining.
I use a 2015 rMBP and still love it. iMac Pro and love it. 2017 iMac and love it. Mac Pro tube and love it. I’m tired of having to open my computers constantly to fix things. I finally have some that don’t need fixing, work very well, and I fly through work that I love doing.
Ah yes, the people who complain about those who complain. Well I'll do you one better and complain about your complaining about my complaining.
Stu, sad that your first reaction is a personal attack. Are you OK? Do you feel personal attacks are necessary in this forum? Are personal attacks allowed? And it's not like my critiques are off base here.
Ben, WTF is an OC? Otherworld Computing? Or maybe you meant PC? Seriously I'd love to but, as I indicated, I like the macOS and FCP. That doesn't mean I MUST enjoy the hardware. I wish Apple would let me bring my own hardware.
