I have a early 2011 MBP with 16GB Ram and I am looking at options upgrading SDD and Hard drive. I was set on Crucial M500 240GB SSD ($129) and Western Digital Bare Drives 1TB WD Blue SATA III 5400 RPM 8 MB ($76). Then i saw the Data Doubler. Thinking i may do that now? Just not sure which to do? Trying to be cost effective but get best performance at the same time. FYI I'm new to all this upgrading stuff!!

For editing work, get 7200 rpm drives is possible. SSD will be faster, but more expensive, and not as much storage. If money is an issue, I'd go for the 7200rpm internal drive, with the data doubler holding an SSD drive. But, will that SSD be enough storage space for you? I'd also cruise on over to Other World Computing (dot com) and price shop for components.
