So I've got my new 15" MacBook Pro Retina (Mid 2014) 2.8 GHz BTO (finally) all set up and humming along sweetly. Now I need to tune it to the needs of editing on location when I can't have my Vutrix monitor. The Retina display seems to have deep, deep blacks.
So deep, in fact, that when I display SMPTE Bars with PLUGE, I can't see the little 7.5 IRE bar under the red stripe.
Using the 'Advanced' mode of the Displays setup, I can monkey around with some settings, but it all feels a bit 'broad brush' and not particularly trustworthy.
Has anyone got their MBP Retina display to pass the PLUGE test? Is there a better way to a reasonable setting other than trying to eyeball the display to a Grade 2 monitor using the 'Advanced' settings? LOL
