I have my new nMP at last.
Attaching the HP LP3065 30 inch monitor to is via a thunderbolt connection to a DVI adapter, I am only getting low resolution screens offered.
Has anyone any idea how I can get the normal high resolution screen that this monitor is capable of providing and used to provide on my old Mac pro?

What sort of DVI adaptor? High resolutions would require dual-link DVI, and hence a dual-link-capable adaptor.

The standard miniDisplayPort-DVI dongles won't cut it. Apple's own dual-link adaptor is notoriously flaky, if memory serves, but I think third-party ones are available. Check they're compatible with 2560 resolutions.

Just use a mini Displayport to Displayport cable to get full res.
