There are lots of tutorials out there on YouTube but a lot seem to go over the same stuff. So it is nice when you come across original content, well presented and with links. Wes James has posted this rather cool playing card flip tutorial with video on the back. Links to the media after the break. (Oh for high quality YouTube poster frames!)
Shooting 3D with two Canon 5D MkIIs? Apparently it was difficult to achieve because of the GenLock problem, but not for Damian Steck when he produced his Eyes Wide Open film in pin sharp stereoscopic 3D. Pin sharp that is if you're wearing your 3D specs for this anaglyph version. More after the break including news about the Holga.
We love FCP, but there are times when you will have to go to another NLE. Not something that we like to contemplate too much but its fact. We've recently seen the bridging to Avid, but how does FCP work with Premiere Pro? More after the break.
Digital Heaven have updated their utility that allows you to print out bins from Final Cut Pro. Very handy to give a hard copy to your director so he or she doesn't keep leaning over, grabbing the mouse off you and shouting "Let me find the clip!" Version 2.0 Beta is now available for download.
Most of us won't change out of the standard setting on our Canon 5Ds as we don't have time to experiment with the curves, but this guy has done if for you. Peter Miranda runs through all the 5D profiles, as well as the superflat curve. More after the break including shooting 3D on your 5D
We loved this and thought we would share. Greg Clarke at Intelligent Assistance sent it to Larry, well at least he now has a link to direct people to!
In the latest video, Rick tackles dealing with a multitude of codecs and outputting to any format you want; selectively exporting from the Final Cut Pro Timeline; effective media management; how to clone a hard drive and protect yourself again disaster.
We felt a bit guilty posting a timelapse of an Avid editor the other day so to readdress the balance, here's a timelapse of an FCP editor at work on a GoPro project, he's on day 85 of 365. Loads more videos after the break including an amazing fall off a mountain.

So no news from Apple about Final Cut Pro at the iPad2 event. However Randy Ubillos who headed up the team that gave birth to Final Cut over 10 years ago, was on stage to talk about iMovie. Is there anything we can learn?
